There are certain things in life that help us feel safe and secure: certain places, particular smells, and favourite foods even. We fill our houses with comforts, photos, and keepsakes that hopefully make us feel good about ourselves. When we are low, or have had a hard day you’ll make (or order) your favorite comfort food. These things make our homes, home. My ever-growing lad has reached the soft toy stage, he's choosing his own comfort things. Up to a couple of months ago all the beautiful bears, dogs and rabbits that had been received as gifts sat on the top shelf of his book self, and were rarely shown any attention. Now half of them have to be in his cot, and a few have become these special friends that are carried around half the day, asked for when he’s getting tired and needed after that bump or scratch.
